“If we're going to be the best at logistics, we need to have a solution that catches discrepancies.
Helge Mood is CEO of Boss Europe, and it was he who chose Visma Net when they were moving their extensive logistics to the cloud.
More automation leads to more satisfied customers
“We deliver over 90,000 item numbers to companies all over Norway, and we are of course at the mercy of the fact that the customer has a good experience from the time they order until they receive the item. A lot can happen between these points, and then it is important that we are able to catch up and inform the customer. The same applies after the product has been received. We need to be able to follow up with the customer.
In order for Boss Europe to become the best at logistics, they rely on a solution that catches discrepancies. According to Helge, the old system consisted of a lot of unnecessary manual labor. They didn't get out the reports they wanted and the inventory value was inaccurate. In addition, the sellers, who are often out on assignment, need to work in an online platform. The sum of these things made it a fairly easy choice for Helge and co to choose Visma Net.
“The transition to Visma Net has been virtually painless! It is a very flexible platform with ample opportunities to build on and expand when needed. For such a large implementation, there have been fewer challenges than we expected. Now we are working on the solution as it “came in the box”. The next step is to customize and automate, so that it will be tailored to us,” Mood continues.

Automation reduces errors
Mood says he was particularly looking forward to getting more data into the system so that it is easier for both him and other decision-makers to make informed decisions. In addition, he makes no secret of the fact that the automation in the system has both speeded things up, as well as reduced errors.
Automation is exciting. In the dashboard, we easily get stock status and backorder lists, so customers know when the goods arrive. As we get more history into Visma Net, it becomes easier to extract information, for example about pricing structures and what products we think we need.
“We also have some customers with shipping agreements, and are constantly feeding the system with more data. We add installments, and then the shipping agreements automatically come up at the customer level. There we eliminate a possible source of error!
He also clarifies that the system makes it possible for them to provide even better service to their customers.
“The more we get automated, the better we can take care of our customers. With the manual transactions we had before, there was always a possibility of keying or doing something wrong. We don't have to do that when Visma Net works for us,” says Mood.
The logistics system will help with scaling
For Boss Europe, it is important that the logistics system facilitates growth, but Mood stresses that in order to get there, everyone needs to be able to understand numbers and data in real time, so that they can quickly turn around, when needed.
“The ease of reporting and analysis is a prerequisite for us. Like everyone else, we have a goal to get bigger. That's why I like that we can output all reports to Excel. It makes it easy to analyze
Now that Mood has been through the implementation and sees what results they have achieved after a relatively short time he has some tips for those considering switching systems:
It's all about finding a balance between the safe and the unknown. In the safe lies the predictability, the foundations and the structure, but it is in the unknown that one finds the subtleties and possibilities to be different from the competition. It is here that we can find the solution that allows us to become a preferred supplier. By switching to Visma Net you get both. It is safe and predictable because Visma has expertise and many years of experience. At the same time, the system can be customized, allowing the company to automate processes and focus attention on the core of the business,” Mood says.

Easy transition with the right partner
For Mood, it was important to choose a trustworthy supplier, not least a partner.
“I contacted Visma Software and they set up a meeting with us and our Visma-certified partner, Abacus IT. It made me confident that we not only had a dealer, but also Visma in the back. In the meeting, the chemistry with Kristoffer Faller in Abacus IT hit. Christopher hit all the points we were looking for.
“He understood our challenges, was honest and easy to talk to, and quickly came back with feedback. We felt cared for by both Abacus IT as a partner, and Visma Software as a supplier,” concludes Mood.
