As one of Norway's most modern salmon slaughterhouses, SalmoSea undoubtedly needs the latest technology and the most modern systems. When they were going to switch to a cloud-based ERP system, the order was clear and the demands high. Visma Net facilitates the company's ability to use its financial statements to make more correct decisions.

“Financial statements should be a tool for better decisions.
Meet the requirements of automation
Åsgeir Hanssen is Business Controller at SalmoSea, and has been responsible for the selection of the new financial system. The company had clear and high requirements for what the new solution could do:
Automate voucher management, accrual and reconciliation.
Provide quick and correct key information to decision makers.
Have integration opportunities towards subject systems.
Be a 100 percent cloud-based solution that is always up to date and where new functionality is regularly rolled out — without SalmoSea having to do anything of its own.

Get started with Visma Net in just six weeks
Good and thorough mapping meetings made the relocation job smooth. SalmoSea and SpareBank 1 Regnskapshuset SMN spent only six weeks on implementation and training.
“We decided to run an intensive implementation process in which both we and SpareBank 1 Regnskapshuset SMN were very dedicated to the project. Several people I spoke to said we had added up to an overly ambitious schedule. But from the time we signed the contract until we were up and running Visma Net, it took six weeks. We could go into summer vacation knowing that the accounts ran on a state-of-the-art solution,” says Åsgeir.
Accounting with real-time data
Åsgeir is clear in his speech when he talks about the working methodology in a modern economic function: Accounting should be a tool for better decisions.
To achieve these goals, you can't just look backwards. Financial statements must be continuously updated, and one must have agile reporting procedures that provide ongoing key information to decision-makers.
“Visma Net has significantly streamlined daily routines, while the OneStop Reporting solution provides increased insight through the availability of data and the ability to tailor reports,” he says.
— Sky-high competence in IT, accounting and finance
SalmoSea also receives accounting services from SpareBank 1 Regnskapshuset SMN — when they need it. This can be in connection with increased workload, sick leave or sparring with a financial partner who knows both the company and the systems well.
“SpareBank 1 Regnskapshuset SMN has a high level of expertise in IT, accounting and finance. These three go hand in hand. If necessary, they can relieve us, so that we are always “on top” and can work on what creates value for our company,” concludes Åsgeir.
“Visma Net has significantly streamlined daily routines, while OneStop Reporting provides increased insight through the availability of data and the ability to tailor reports.
