Extra Toys had to invest in a new e-commerce platform. They quickly understood that it was not only the house that needed to be demolished, but also the entire foundation. Now they are entering a new digital everyday life with the ERP and logistics system Visma Net as the foundation for everything they do.

Daniel Lillesskog is Marketing Manager at Extra Toys. He also serves as a project manager for new software in collaboration with the vendors. Daniel's goal is to build a bridge between the digital and the physical so that the customer has a seamless buying experience regardless of how they like to shop. Simplifying and automating all processes is a big win, according to Daniel.
Nevertheless, the biggest gain is that customers get an even better buying experience when shopping at Extra Toys.
“We agreed on the way forward when I started in January 2020. Extra Toys was to become more digital with, among other things, a new online store. We saw that the old rig didn't facilitate us being able to build on it. This is what prompted us to invest in a new ERP system, Daniel says.
With rigid systems that did not facilitate interaction, they had many annoyances on a weekly basis.
It was a shame to have an insecure system. Our new rig should help us create better customer journeys - regardless of whether customers shop online or in stores. After all, we know both from experience and from data that most people who shop in the store first visit the online store.

Full control of warehouse and logistics
There have been several pain points for Extra Toys. In addition to a lot of manual labor, having foreign software vendors was challenging. The path to good communication became longer — and the threshold for fixing small things higher.
“It was important to choose a Norwegian system supplier. It has sometimes been difficult to have a foreign player. I am very happy to have a local player like Dataplan. It's easy to set up an extra meeting, and if Anton doesn't answer mail, just show up at the door.
In the cloud, there are no longer restrictions on what Extra Toys can do. In the past, they struggled to extract good sales figures and they lacked a system of in-store reception. Unless they were doing manual counts, there was no stock status in the stores either. It provided extra work on procurement and lengthened the processes.

Why did the election fall on Visma Net?
“We were looking for a Visma supplier because several people in finance had a positive experience working in Visma Business,” Daniel says.
It was thanks to a via—via acquaintance with Visma provider Dataplan in Stavanger that Extra Leker got in touch with advisor Anton Solberg. He recommended Visma Net.
“We knew of several people who had had good projects with Dataplan, and none had anything negative to come up with. It's actually relatively rare. Their expertise and brand were good, and when we also had a successful pre-project and got good follow-up, it was a done deal,” says Daniel.
In addition, Extra Leker had been Visma customers for five years through the Huldt & Lillevik payroll system.
“We are very excited that Visma Net is an “out of the box” system. It is already adapted to the Nordic market, and we do not need to make one hundred and fifty-eleven adaptations to make it work. All integrations towards banking, electronic invoicing and reporting to the authorities are in place.
