The Energy Service company from Stavanger spent too much time and money updating its systems. Now they have finance, logistics, project accounting and payroll in one platform. The senior manager of Sub Sea Services is most excited that Visma Net can drive large amounts of data into the system and that it is always up to date

“Visma Net makes it easy for us to always stay up to date across the organization.
This says Bernt Arne Breistein, CEO of Sub Sea Services AS, adding that it was very important that Visma Net has continuous updates when they chose to replace their ERP system.
“If we had updated the rig to a newer version, we would have had to redo all the customizations and integrations. This would take time and cost a lot of money.
Sub Sea Services also did not have an optimal system for timekeeping, expense accounting and outlays.
“We had a completely outdated expense reporting system. Having to update all rates manually has been very cumbersome for the employees.

— Visma Net is logical and functional
According to Breinstein, the best thing about Visma Net is the availability of data.
“We get snapshots of everything from order reserve to project profitability and liquidity. In many other ERP systems, you have to either via Excel or do very many operations to see, find and understand.
From the front page of Visma Net, they have bespoke dashboards and reports.
“It is very easy to be able to see every time we have invoiced, and of course the result report that I use every week.
Visma Net is logical and functional. The more you get to know it, the more logical it is. The threshold to start pressing in there is pretty low. And the data is up to date all the way.
Mentally prepared for change
In the fall of 2020, the launch took place. In just under six months, the new rig was to be surveyed, implemented and commissioned. The SubSea Services boss looks back:
Within three months, we were up and running. It's probably a world record in implementation,” Breistein says.
MDE Sigma's Kristina Eriksen would like to:
“It says something about the level of the gang in MDE Sigma. It's an incredibly good team. At the same time, there are sky-high levels in the staff of Sub Sea Services. They have a fiery will and ability to carry through. A “get it done” mentality.
Now it's all about unlearning the old habits. Breistein says they already notice less noise, despite the fact that it always hurts to mess up routines at the root.
“When I talk to others, they are impressed by how fast it has gone, and really painless.
It is important that the Supreme Leader is close at all times.
CEO Kristina Eriksen of MDE Sigma believes that the rapid implementation is due to the fact that CEO Breistein has been involved throughout the process.
“I think it's important that leaders realize how closely they have to be on all the processes when making changes.
“Bernt Arne has followed the implementation closely. Although many people and systems have been involved, Bernt Arne's gaze has always been a common thread. It has definitely made it easier for us to understand the need of Sub Sea Services, and to deliver accordingly.

Integrated Excel with the project accounting
It was Stavanger-based MDE Sigma that was given the assignment to implement Visma Net. CEO Kristina Eriksen says that they have a strong desire for their customers to succeed.
“I believe that if that is the motivation all the time, then you can have a good and transparent process,” she says.
Sub Sea Services had over time developed a well-functioning financial project assessment tool. Now the Excel-based tool is integrated with the project accounting in Visma Net, with good help from MDE Sigma.
It's not about systems, it's about people. We want to be a partner in the truest sense of the word: someone who will always hunt for the best solutions for Sub Sea Services. And if they don't exist, then we develop them,” says Eriksen.

Visma has a willingness to be up to date
There are still adjustments that remain, but the manager himself is still happy to work in a new system.
“Visma Net makes it easy for us to wear “multiple hats and roles” because it always keeps us updated across the organization.
And despite the fact that MDE Sigma was a new Visma partner, he says they have had a tremendous determination to find the right people and solutions for Sub Sea Services. A typical heart in the right place-partner.
Sub Sea Services AS is a subsidiary of Acerdo, and the Group has a total of 8 companies. They specialize in the maintenance and repair of equipment for offshore installations, the production of equipment globally and the development of new products that are manufactured in their own workshops.
